Evaluate data collection, quality control and data utilization methods used to study epidemiological problems and issues.
Oversee contracts, grants and cooperative agreements with full responsibility for carrying out all required monitoring and management duties for epidemiological work.
Design, plan and initiate epidemiologic studies, surveys and investigations.
Serve as a nationally or internationally recognized expert on epidemiological issues on critical problems in the field of epidemiology.
Comply with all ethical guidelines for scientific and human subjects research.

Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.This degree must be from an educational program from an accredited body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirements, applicants must meet the specialized experience as stated below:

GS-13: Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service. GS-14: Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service.
