    Join the team! This position is located in the Headquarters Office of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Office of Communications. The Office is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of national information and public affairs programs designed to promote product safety. The Office is also responsible for implementing the Commission's media relations program nationwide. The Office serves as the Commission's spokesperson to the national and local print and broadcast media, websites and social media accounts, develops and disseminates the Commission's news releases, and organizes Commission news conferences. This Office also has the responsibility for developing and maintaining relations with consumer organizations; trade associations; and federal, state and local health, safety and consumer agencies.

    Responsibilities

    The Audiovisual Production Specialist at the CPSC will:

    • Independently performs a variety of highly complex assignments, which are broad in scope and directly impact the mission of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
    • Responsible for video production on site and at remote locations including program content and development, pre and post production, set and lighting design, coordination of all technical equipment and staff, site acquisition, video editing and final production.
    • Responsible for all aspects of audio and video production in support of Commission hearings and meetings.
    • Production of internal training videos.
    • Produces video content to support information and education activities that directly support the mission of CPSC, including on digital and social media platforms.
    • Produce work products that may be presented in live video, DVD, web streaming, social media or other media output.
    • Responsible for all video content and some graphical content maintained on CPSC's websites.
    • Design, maintain, and manage production facilities including concept, design, technical specifications, contract managment and budgets.
    • Provide oral and written information and reports as needed and make recommendations to accomplish Commission goals.
