- Handles media relations inquiries and requests quickly and efficiently for NMAI regarding exhibitions and programs. Responds to media inquiries with accurate and current information and arranges interviews with appropriate spokespeople.
- Coordinates and supports social media program operations, applications. Drafts posts and gathers images and text for social media platforms; coordinates planning and research and calendar. Researches social media trends, influencers and proposes ways to engage.
- Researches and maintains press contact list in museum database including major media contacts, art press, Native American press, community news outlets, tourist services, and local business development and community groups. Proofs press lists for accuracy and manages large mailings of marketing and media materials.
- Responsible for drafting and writing press releases, fact sheets and background materials, pitches, and creates, gathers images and sends materials to members of the press.
