Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Army Library Program's expert librarian and/or team leader for the General Library Information System. Work requires extensive knowledge and experience in integrated library system modules, computer networks, and information assurance.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises circulation, acquisitions, cataloging and automation requirements, plans and policies. Requests, justifies, and monitors fund allocations. Establishes internal procedures to ensure appropriate fiscal accountability.
  • Develops contract requirements, statements of work and monitors contractor performance. Catalogs and classifies material for enterprise library system.
  • Performs automation services to include evaluation, acquisition, implementation, maintenance of local and enterprise wide library systems. Implements, monitors and revises library systems privacy, security and information assurance policies.
  • Provides programming and marketing/public relations. Designs and conducts training, briefings and demonstrations. Assists senior library program manager with Army wide policies, standards and directives.

Qualifications

1. A master's degree in library science, information science or information management from an accredited college or university.
2. A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience which showcases the ability to perform technical services and/or library automation functions.
3. Familiar with MS Office software products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint ad Access.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Highly Preferred Criteria:
Candidates meeting the below criteria will be considered first.

1. Project management experience, preferably with multiple projects. Experience with the coordination of multiple personnel and/or external entities. Experience with managing
quality assurance and testing.
2.. Experience with the integration of applications such as a content management system, integrated library system, digital repository, discovery application, single sign-on application in a library.
3. Experience developing and configuring SharePoint or similar environments to support library staff users and library business requirements as well as experience building reports and/or dashboards associated with data in supported system.

Education

A master's degree in library science, information science or information management from an accredited college or university.
