Employee will work for the Directorate of Emergency Services, serving as a Security Guard. This position performs access control and patrol duties on a military installation for the purpose of safeguarding Government personnel, operations, information and all critical assets.

Duties

Help
  • Controls access of vehicles and pedestrians to installation.
  • Verifies identification through use of cards, badges, biometrics automated records, vehicle decals, verbal questioning, and other means.
  • Controls, prepares, issues identificataion badges, cards and passess that allow access of civilian, military, contractor personnel, and visitors on the installation.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
  • In Accordance With AR 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply.
  • This position is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent agrees to submit to urinalysis testing on a recurring basis.
  • This position requires shift work, or a change in shift work may be necessary.
  • This position may require unscheduled overtime work.
  • Must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and semi-annually thereafter.
  • This position requires individual to undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
  • This position requires incumbent to successfully complete security guard training.
  • Must successfully complete CPR certification and First Aid training.
  • May be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves and other personal protective equipment.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass entry level and annual recertification of standard Army physical fitness/agility test.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's license.
  • Incumbent must wear prescribed uniform.
  • This position requires working both inside and outside with possible exposure to inclement weather.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience includes work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involves the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Controlling access to secure areas; screening visitors for valid credentials, and dealing with difficult or manipulative individuals that are not authorized access. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-04).

Education
