    This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG), Deputy Inspector General for Policy and Oversight (P&O), Investigative Policy and Oversight (IPO), Investigative Oversight Division. This experience will be demonstrated by knowledge of and experience in the investigation crimes covered by the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

    As a Criminal Investigator, your typical work assignments may include the following:

    - Plans and executes evaluations of criminal investigations
    - Plans, schedules and conducts oversight reviews
    - Prepares investigative reports to be issued by the Office of Inspector General
    - Evaluates Department of Defense-wide policies regarding referral of criminal matters by program

    This is an Excepted Service position. Any appointment made under the provisions of this announcement is excepted from competitive civil service and may require the incumbent to serve a trial period. An applicant receiving such an appointment does not acquire competitive civil service status.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - 25% - You may be expected to travel for this position.
