    This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Fort Apache Agency in Whiteriver, Arizona.

    Responsibilities

    As a Forestry Technician (Hotshot) ,GS - 0462 - 4, your typical work assignments and/or responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
    Work as a trainee engine operator driving fire vehicles, operating pumps, and making hose lays.
    Locate hot-spots and mop fire edges.
    Construct a fireline using various hand tools and power tools.

    The full performance level of this position is a GS-04.

    TELEWORK: Indian Affairs has determined that the duties of the position are not suitable for telework.

    76% or greater - Incumbent may be required to live in backcountry camps for extended periods of time.
