This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG). The incumbent reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff, serves as the Logistics Management Office Director and is responsible for providing leadership and professional logistics management expertise in support of the OIG's worldwide operations.

The incumbent manages and supervises, through subordinate supervisors, personnel engaged in a variety of administrative, logistical, and safety/occupational health programs. Specifically, the incumbent directs work of four divisions: Continuity, Safety and Deployment Division; Overseas Logistics Support Division; Facilities and Space Management Division, and Property and Mail Services Division.

Duties

Help

As a Support Services Supervisor, GS-0342-15, your typical work assignment may include the following:

- Manages the OIG Personnel Accountability Program and the Continuity of Operations Program.
- Oversees the Casualty Affairs program for OIG Personnel, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring and tracking property acquisition, distribution, and disposal within the OIG.
- Manages COOP for the OIG to ensure the agency can continue operations in emergencies.
- Plans, formulates, and implements polices and procedures for an effective space program OIG space worldwide.
- Responsible for a Safety and Occupational Health Program OIG offices worldwide.
- Provides logistical support to all OIG deployed personnel.
- Oversees the testing and evaluation of COOP plan.
- Works with deployed staff, internal OIG offices, and external agencies to ensure consistency with law, regulation and policy.

Position has been designated as Critical/Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with Department of Defense (DoD) OIG. Organizational entities with the DoD are not required to conduct drug testing for DoD civilian employees moving by transfer or reassignment from one DoD Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another TDP with no break in service within the DoD, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis by the gaining Component.
If you have not previously successfully completed a probationary period with the federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.
The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-14 level in the federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as: providing oversight and responsibility for a department that includes programs such as Administrative, Logistics, and Safety/Occupational Health, the delvelopment and testing of a Continuity of Operations Plan, and the management of disaster relief for local and overseas contingencies for military and civilian's personnel.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
