About the Position:
This position is located with the U.S. Army Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment Activity, TMDE Support Center McAlester, in McAlester, OK. TMDE Support Center McAlester is a Tenant Organization on the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP) that provides calibration and repair support of general and special purpose test equipment to the Department of the Army, as well as various reimbursable customers, in support of Army Maintenance missions.

Duties

Help

  • Serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over the Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator operations, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations in planning distribution, prescribing deadlines and sequence of work on a day-to-day or project-to-project basis for subordinates.
  • Explain all work requirements, methods, procedures, specific safety precaution to all personnel.
  • Review work in progress and upon completion.
  • Perform performance management including but not limited to setting performance standards, scheduling and approving leave, counseling employees and position management.
  • Calibrate in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical, laser, physical and dimensional measurements to the secondary transfer level calibration, certification and evaluation of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to lead or supervise as a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform workforce planning, training and employee development, administrative and employee management and be skilled in skilled in prioritizing workload based off future deadlines, identifying training needs, and performing calibrating and repairing of Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) through applying precise measurement methods and techniques of electrical and electronic quantities and relationships such as standing wave ratio, power impedance, reactance, and attenuation.

Physical Demands: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending. Requires frequent lifting, carrying and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
