About the Position:
Serves as a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator with Test, Measurements, Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) department at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Selects, applies, and interprets electronic principles and practices to collect, reduce, display, and analyze calibration data for a wide variety of complex general and special purpose TMDE. Mechanics at this level calibrate all types of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical measurement systems used in industrial, ground, airborne, and experimental applications.
Prepares calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated.
Interfaces with user, manufacturer, and US Army TMDE Activity engineers as necessary to clarify questionable areas concerning the use and accuracy of instruments or nonstandard TMDE.
Assists and advises users in the application of, and calibration requirements for TMDE in support of their mission.
Implements, adapts, modifies and occasionally develops technical procedures required by changing user or equipment requirements.
Identifies and documents errors in existing procedures and provides information used for the development of technical documents used for TMDE calibration and certification.
Serves, as the workload dictates, as a specialist in physical/dimensional and ionizing radiation calibration.
Permanent Change of Station expenses are authorized.
Relocation (Government Home Sale) Expenses are NOT authorized.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Troubleshooting
The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
