The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Dean of Faculty, Department of Management, anticipates filling the TERM (full-time) position of Assistant Professor of Management, beginning on 25 June 2018 and terminating on 30 June 2021. Subsequent re-appointments will be considered based upon an assessment of performance, Air Force and departmental needs, and funding availability. This position is in the excepted civil service.

USAFA, located just north of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is an undergraduate institution that awards the Bachelor of Science degree as part of its mission to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead in the United States Air Force and in service to our nation. Faculty applications are invited from candidates who can contribute to this mission by interacting with cadets, both in and out of the classroom, as instructors and mentors. The student body consists of approximately 4,000 men and women representing every state and several foreign countries. The Academy faculty is an integrated group of military and civilian educators. The curriculum includes core academic and professional courses, and 27 disciplinary and interdisciplinary majors.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An earned Doctoral degree (must be completed by employment start date) in Accounting, Finance, Operations Research, Decision Science, Business Analytics, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, or related field from an AACSB or equivalent quality program.

ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Accounting, Finance, Operations Research, Decision Science, Business Analytics, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicable (especially undergraduate) teaching experience and applicable academic and organizational service are highly desired. Applicants will be assessed based on their teaching credentials (including teaching awards, teaching evaluations/student critiques, course development efforts, and student project descriptions), scholarship (peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations and awards), service (membership and contributions to collegial, administration, and/or professional organizations and societies), and education (official academic transcripts and evidence of other relevant experience). Designations that demonstrate commitment to the field, or external validation, will also be considered (e.g., CAP, CFA, CPA, CFP, PMP, etc.). Successful applicants will possess personal attributes of integrity, cooperation, initiative, and breadth of intellectual interests. Preference will be given to a research and/or teaching focus (especially undergraduate) in Accounting, Finance, Operations Research, Decision Science, Business Analytics, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or Operations Management. Relevance of publications and degrees to the fields listed is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION:
You MUST provide original copies of ALL OFFICIAL transcripts for degrees being pursued or obtained (or letter of degree completion if an OFFICIAL transcript is not available due to recent graduation) to support your educational claims as stated in your curriculum vitae. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Legible photocopies of OFFICIAL transcripts are acceptable for initial application submission. However, if selected, you will be required to provide (original) copies of your OFFICIAL transcripts. For a transcript to be considered OFFICIAL, it should be printed on university letterhead and the registrar's official seal/signature must appear on the transcript. FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
