    The incumbent participates actively in the rulemaking responsibilities of the Board, performing analysis and evaluation of complex issues concerning ICT accessibility. In addition, the incumbent provides professional advice, technical assistance, and training to those agencies, industries, organizations, and individuals seeking to implement related accessibility guidelines, standards, and policies.

    Responsibilities

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    • Apply knowledge of computer science to the process by which the Board develops national policy concerning accessible Information and Communications Technology.
    • Provide advice and assistance to advisory committees through which public interest groups are involved in the rulemaking process. Representatives to such committees include major U.S. industries and corporations, major advocacy groups for the people with disabilities, and senior level members of various Federal agencies.
    • Develop and present training programs in response to requests for training assistance.
