This position is located at USAG Yongsan, Area II, in Seoul, Korea. Korea, Land of the Morning Calm, has transformed itself into an economic powerhouse in less than five decades. Seoul is one of the largest cities in the world with all of the amenities you would expect from any metropolis. Located in the center of Asia, Korea has a great mix of historic and cultural sites to explore and traveling to other countries is very convenient. http://www.army.mil/korea.

This position is located at: US Army TMDE Region - Pacific, Camp Coiner, Seoul, Korea.

The site location will move during the first to second quarter of 2018 to Camp Humphreys, Pyeongtaek, Korea due to the Yongsan Relocation Plan.

Duties

Help

You will serve as a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator responsible for the following:

  • Calibrating test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE);
  • Troubleshooting and repairing TMDE;
  • Collecting and analyzing calibration data;
  • Implementing, modifying and developing technical procedures;
  • Utilizing automated systems to document test results and preparing reports.

Other Requirements:

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.
  • Temporary duty assignment (TDY) will be required 10% of work time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance for the duration of appointment.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
  • The work of this position is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.

  • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
  • If an employee brings a family member to an overseas location who requires medical or dental care, then the employee will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to successful applicants for positions at overseas locations. For this provision to apply to employees already overseas, the selected individual would have to require a permanent change of station move and would have to be selected as a result of a recruitment effort that had been extended outside of the overseas command involved.
  • Selectees initially recruited from the United States may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. (Subject to approval)
  • Selectees recruited outside the U.S. will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire.
