About the Position:
This position is located at US Army Aviation and Missile Command, Fort Hood, Texas. Fort Hood rests in the beautiful hill and lake country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. The nearby lakes, Belton and Stillhouse, offer year round outdoor recreation activities.

Help

  • Works under the direction of the Region Director who provides appropriate guidance and relies on the incumbent to direct the accomplishment of assigned work operations within the limits of policies established by the Region Director.
  • Accomplishes assigned mission by planning, directing, and evaluating the center's supervisors who direct the day-to-day work of engineering technicians.
  • Develops budget requirements and, within the framework of budgetary limitations and guiding policies, determines the type and amount of office space, equipment, and supplies needed to accomplish the assigned mission.
  • Evaluates progress toward overall program objectives and validity of evaluations prepared by subordinate staff.
  • Responsible for the execution of administrative and personnel and management responsibilities related to the accomplishment of the mission assigned.
  • Provides or makes provisions for development and training, consulting with specialists on training needs and deciding on training problems related to the organization.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the common task of a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator Supervisor. I am skilled in planning, coordinating, and directing a variety of related work operations or functions in several units with minimum oversight. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
  • Ability To Lead Or Supervise
  • Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
  • Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
  • Theory and Instruments (Electrical Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices
