About the Position:
This position is located at U.S. Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC), Fort Eustis, VA. ARCIC leads the development and integration of force capabilities across the Army. ARCIC ensures the identification, design, development, and synchronization of Army capabilities into the current and future modular forces, bringing together all the Army agencies. ARCIC also supports the TRADOC mission. Fort Eustis Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. There are convenient interstate and major highways connecting the city to the neighboring cities above plus York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.

Help

  • Serve as a staff-level Human Resources Specialist (Military) with responsibility for providing technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs that include strength management; personnel readiness; retention; replacement operations; awards; evaluations; separations; personnel action; and Military Acquisition Position List (MAPL) programs for Headquarters TRADOC, Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC).
  • Serve as officer and enlisted personnel manager.
  • Manage and oversee several military personnel action programs for the command to include such activities as Awards, Promotions, Retention, and the Military Acquisition Position List (MAPL) program.
  • Oversee PERSTEMPO program for the Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC).

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) understanding of military HR management principles, concepts, regulations, and practices; 2) demonstrating experience with computer systems such as Electronic Military Personnel Office (eMILPO), Electronic Total Personnel Management Information (eTOPMIS), and Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS); 3) understanding of military human resources management sufficient to evaluate and make recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals and to develop, interpret, and analyze data extracts and reports from automated databases.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
