In our student volunteer position, you will participate in various phases of the audit cycle such as planning, research, field work, and report writing. This work could include:
Participating in audit meetings and interviews
Performing research on applicable procurement laws and regulations,
Contributing to management briefings and presentations,
Analyzing data from Federal procurement databases,
Developing audit documentation to verify results and ensure accurate reporting of findings and facts
Supporting congressional testimony and requests.
As a student volunteer, you will also experience and collaborate with the various other groups that support an IG audit team, such as legal and legislative staff, investigators, and statisticians. You will be afforded opportunities to interact with and learn about the various administrations that comprise the DOT.
As a student volunteer, you will gain enhanced skills and knowledge, and acquire hands-on experience and insight into the role of Federal agencies and Congress. Your student volunteer experience will provide resume and skill building opportunities in a top Federal agency with the mission of serving the transportation needs of the United States.
U.S. Citizenship. This position is subject to a background check.
Enrolled at least half time at a qualifying educational Institution.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Completed at least two full academic years of undergraduate education in a degree seeking program.
Must be enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university and have cumulative GPA of a 3.0
