Summary

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
The U.S. Army Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Support Center-Aberdeen (USA TSC-APG) maintains centrally managed laboratories that provide traceable measurements from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or fundamental physical constants to meet Army maintenance and operational requirements. Measurement accuracy and TMDE calibration and repair support services are coordinated with the other military services to identify common requirements. The Army metrology system, the cornerstone of the Army TMDE Support Program, provides an unbroken chain of measurement traceability from the NIST through the U. S. Army Primary Standard Laboratory (USAPSL), subordinate calibration facilities, such as TSC-APG. This traceable calibration system ensures development, testing, maintenance, and operation processes are valid, systems will perform as designed and will be inter-operable with other systems on the battlefield.
