The OIG conducts audits, evaluations, investigations and special reviews of the personnel and programs of all DOJ components. This position is located in the Management and Planning Division (M&P), Office of Security Programs (OSP). The M&P Division provides advice to OIG senior leadership on administrative and fiscal policy and assists OIG components in the areas of budget formulation and execution, security, personnel, training, travel, procurement, property management, information technology, computer network communications, quality assurance, internal controls and general support. OSP is responsible for the oversight of all security-related functions, policies, and procedures and for providing a full range of security-related services for the OIG workforce.

This vacancy may be used to fill other similar and/or comparable positions throughout the agency within the stated duty station, so more than one selection may be made.

Help

If selected for this position of Security Programs Manager, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing a full range of security-related services for the OIG. Typical work assignments include:

  • Oversight of all security-related functions (physical, information, cyber-security, and personnel), policies, and procedures and for providing a full range of these services;
  • Plans and develops OIG-wide support services programs, plans, procedures, and methods particularly security-related.
  • Analyzes and evaluates the impact, feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of existing and proposed security standards, regulations, programs, and policies.
  • Analyzes, plans, schedules, and coordinates the development of security policy issuances that direct the course of the complete portfolio of security programs across organizational lines involved in sensitive and secure work performed in the OIG.

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • You must be registered for the Selective Service, if applicable.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-15: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-14 Federal grade level. This experience must include in-depth skills in at least three of the following four areas; physical security, personnel security, information security, information technology security, which includes controlling access to and safeguarding classified security information; knowledge of governing Executive Orders, regulations, and national policy directives. You MUST identify the three areas in your resume.
