About the Position:
Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York's picturesque North country, one of the most historically unique and geographically beautiful areas of the United States, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.

TERM POSITION Not-to-Exceed (NTE) 2 years. This position may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years based on Agency need. Term appointments do not confer permanent status in the Federal Service. Nor does a term position automatically confer eligibility to be converted non-competitively to permanent positions. Under certain specific conditions, and pursuant to legal authority and regulatory requirements, this position may be non-competitively converted to career-conditional or career appointment.

Help

As a Management Analyst with the Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) on Fort Drum, NY you will:

  • be responsible for the administration of the Manpower Management Program and Decision Support functions for the MEDDAC
  • plan, program, review and conduct analysis of all areas related to manpower management
  • perform a variety of duties associated with management studies of mission, organization, functions, work processes and other related criteria
  • utilize various management applications/practices to include statistical analysis
  • develop and maintain the Monthly Review and Analysis (R&A)

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as; utilizing statistical functions to collect and study organizational data; analyzing and monitoring organizational and business trends; database development and management; coordinating with various personnel to ensure the execution of health care system decisions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to qualify based on education. For this position you may qualify if you have a Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration.
