    About the Position:

    This vacancy is for a Term NTE 3 Years, Protocol Specialist, GS-0301-12 position, with the Chief of Staff Army, Army Protocol Office located at Arlington, VA.

    This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.

    • Serve as a Protocol Specialist within the Department of Army.
    • Independently conceptualize, plan, coordinate, and execute all protocol aspects of visits of high ranking US and foreign dignitaries, and special ceremonies hosted by the senior Department of Army leadership.
    • Serve as protocol escort for the duration of scheduled events, providing advice and assistance and taking corrective action for unforeseen requirements.
    • Assist the Protocol Office in determining protocol support requirements for Senior Executive Service (SES) and other executive level civilians.

    25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
