Help

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

  • Guides National/Theater/Tactical maritime analysts in initiating Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) exploitation and production requirements.
  • Provides input for the creation, implementation and maintenance of new processes, projects, policies, and tool sets.
  • Provides technical guidance to supported customers on all facets of the Requirements Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) process with regard to OPIR operations.

Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication by a determining authority. A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to obtain and maintain this required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service. Non-DCIPS applicants selected for a DCIPS position must acknowledge in writing, prior to actual appointment to the DCIPS position, that the position for which he or she has been selected is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS. Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must also acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS position. This acknowledgement is necessary as movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited if the employee does not possess competitive status.

DCIPS requires that all new employees successfully complete a two-year trial period if not previously completed in a prior DCIPS appointment.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing guidance to customers on the Requirements Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination process to meet Overhead Persistent Infrared(OPIR) maritime operations; performing test and creation of standard operating procedures for Military Exploitation of Reconnaissance Intelligence (MERIT) programs used for advancement of OPIR in the maritime environment; initating Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) exploitation and production requirements to coordinate dissemination of AGI data and solutions.
