This vacancy is for an IT Specialist (Network) position in the Office of the Chief Information Office, of the Bureau of Economic Analysis, a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The incumbent will provide day-to-day administration, management, security, planning, support and documentation of bureau's wired LAN, WAN and wireless environments. The incumbent will possess expert level knowledge and experience with Cisco networking products including switches, routers and firewalls. The incumbent should also have knowledge of protocols, such as, Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
