As the Northern California Seismic Network (NCSN) Operations Manager within the Earthquake Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
-Plan, organize and directs activities related to the expansion, operation and maintenance of the Northern California Seismic Network (NCSN), a mission-critical, technically complex geophysical network that supports earthquake monitoring and research. The NCSN is a major component of the ShakeAlert system.
-Participates in and leads various planning, technical and operational efforts.
-Assists in evaluating the system’s performance and quality with the goal of achieving Advanced National Seismic System Performance Metrics and improving the performance and capabilities of the network and its products.
-Perform supervisory duties; providing direct or indirect supervision and technical and scientific guidance to staff.

At this level, Geologists have a very good knowledge of the principles of geology and their application, and the ability to independently perform scientific work of considerable difficulty.
