    This position is located in the Department of the Navy (DON), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), in the Nuclear Propulsion Directorate at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. You will serve as a Nuclear Engineer performing professional engineering and scientific work involving designing, developing, testing, evaluating, installing, operating, or maintaining of enterprise applications.

    You will be on a permanent non-reimbursable loan to the Department of Energy (DOE).

    As a Nuclear Engineer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Developing technical specifications or design manuals used in the naval nuclear propulsion for reference in future design efforts.
    • Reviewing prime contractor technical or engineering submittals related to naval nuclear propulsion plants or components to administer appropriate approvals.
    • Managing enterprise application development in a secure manner to ensure accordance with applicable laws or regulations.
    • Consulting management in development programs on the design or development of nuclear powered reactor systems or components.
