Help

Incumbent will serve as a Recreation Assistant in the daily operation of the Auto Skills Center. Collect fees and charges for activities and retail sales. Registers patrons, maintains records and reports of Auto Skills activities and services. Ensure that all autos are checked in and out properly, and that auto stalls are cleaned by patrons after use. Issue and receive tools, makes stall assignments and handles work area requests by authorized patrons. Ensure that facility and equipment are used properly. Inform supervisor if additional equipment, parts, tools and supplies are required. Provide information to patrons on Auto Skills programs, hours of operation, current regulations, and prices. Assist with monitoring/cleaning of Parks and Picnic area ground and facilities. Ensure all policies are followed ,i.e., hazmat regulations. Must have customer service experience, cash handling, opening and closing a facility. Incumbent will operate various misc. software such as RecTrac.

Incumbent must be able to successfully pass background checks according to DoN Policy. Working area includes tool   checkout area, office area, machine shop, outdoor auto stalls, and indoor auto repair areas under the supervision of the Auto Hobby manager. Work may sometime involve lifting or moving of equipment or objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

Candidate will have experience with the general and specific use of tools and equipment related to an Auto Skills Center operation with at least six (6) months experience working in an automotive parts/shop environment. Possess the ability to advise patrons in the proper use of tools and facilities. Have a normal degree of tact and courtesy in dealing with the public.
