At the full performance level of the target conversion position (GS-11), you will:
Evaluate permit applications.
Conduct compliance inspections of activities in waters of the United States authorized under the Clean Water Act, the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, and/or the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act.
Aid in the development of procedures to implement directives from higher authority.
Serve as District representative in groups and task forces with missions of interest to the regulatory program.
Implement initiatives that facilitate effective, efficient, and consistent administration of the regulatory program.
After program completion, Department of the Army Pathways Recent Graduates MAY be converted to a permanent or term appointment without further competition.
This position is being filled at the GS-07 or 09 level with potential conversion to a position with a full performance level at GS-11.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
SPECIALIZED Experience:
TO QUALIFY AT THE GS-07 GRADE LEVEL: To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting in preparing technical environmental or biological reports and/or studies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
TO QUALIFY AT THE GS-09 GRADE LEVEL: To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying principles, concepts and/or methods of an environmental program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Knowledge of basic environmental/biological regulations.
Skill in verbal and written communication.
Ability to self manage.
