The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office within the Department of Agriculture whose mission is to promote excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the USDA. The OIG conducts investigations, audits, and inspections in order to enhance effectiveness and efficiency and to prevent and detect waste, fraud, and mismanagement in USDA programs and operations.
This position serves as the Assistant Inspector General for Management (AIG/OM), whose responsibility is to formulate, develop, and publish policies, procedures, and standards of performance governing the operations of the OIG. In addition, the incumbent of this position is responsible for a wide range of strategic management, resource management, and mission support operations which greatly impact the ability of the OIG to accomplish its mission.
