    Summary

    This position is responsible for a variety of duties which assists the District Conservationist in developing and carrying out a coordinated natural resources conservation program that is tailored to customers' needs and meets USDA and NRCS requirements.

    There is one vacancy in each of the following locations:  Akron, CO; Blackfoot, ID; Nezperce, ID; Chinook, MT; Circle, MT; Hardin/Crow Agency, MT; Fallon, NV; Clovis, NM; Castle Dale, UT; Cheyenne, WY; and, Kaycee, WY.

    Location Consideration:  You may select up to 5 locations to be considered.  Please select locations in which you are able and willing to relocate; these positions do not include payment of relocation or travel expenses.  The salary for each location may vary depending on locality.  Locality tables may be found at https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in gathering and assembling preliminary data for all resource concerns for use in developing complete basic farm conservation plans.
    • Utilize Toolkit/protracts programs in the documentation and management of conservation plans and technical assistance by the service center.
    • Carry out a follow-up schedule for applying conservation practices in accordance with plan and contract schedules.
    • Work with District Conservationists to conduct environmental education on natural resource issues, water quality, and general conservation.
