    OIG is organized into three line elements: the Offices of Investigations, Audits and Evaluations, and Healthcare Inspections; along with the Office of Contract Review and the Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 30 cities throughout the country.

    The Management and Program Analyst, located in the Operations Division, Office of Management and Administration, is responsible for coordinating and assisting OIG develop/determine VA's most significant management challenges, coordinating and publishing the Semiannual Report to Congress (SAR), assisting in the development and tracking of progress against OIG’s Strategic Plan, conducting follow-ups on recommendations to the VA, directing policy issuances and performing management and program analysis.

    As a Management and Program Analyst, you will:

    • Coordinate and prepare the OIG submission to the annual VA Performance and Accountability Report, including a listing of open recommendations.
    • Coordinate and prepare the SAR for publication, ensuring all required materials are submitted, formatting all submissions accordingly and maintaining documentation supporting all data.
    • Develop the OIG Strategic Plan for publication. Work with senior executives to identify priorities facing the OIG and each Directorate. Ensure priorities are consistent throughout the OIG and that they adhere to any applicable legislation. Ensure goals accurately reflect desired program outcomes and are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-specific to allow for subsequent evaluation.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of recommendations through follow-up audits, VA reports and written or verbal responses to inquiries. Provides periodic reports to senior staff.
