You will serve as an expert in data as the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Chief Data Officer within the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS). FHWA’s mission is to improve mobility on our Nation's highways through national leadership, innovation, and program delivery. You will contribute to the mission through your leadership and responsibility for FHWA’s data program and data compliance across FHWA.
You will be responsible for establishing a clear vision of a data-driven culture at FHWA. The Chief Data Officer’s role is to be a data strategist and adviser, steward for improving data quality, liaison for data sharing, and developer of new data products.
OITS is looking for a seasoned professional who is motivated and self-reliant and who can share their expertise in the planning, development, and implementation of plans, policies, and procedures for strategic planning, change management, and business process improvement initiatives. This position is located in the Department of Transportation Headquarters building, which sits directly across the street from the Navy Yard / Ballpark Metro station and blocks away from the new Washington National’s baseball stadium. FHWA has flexible work schedules (including telework) and flexible health benefits.
