Duties

Help

Provides comprehensive and effective services in the collection of revenues and accounting for financial transactions, the protection of controlled documents, commodity and property inventories and other functions of the division. Works with the Financial Operations Manager to review financial procedures, inventory, change and petty cash funds and the control of numbered documents. Provides advice and information on policies and general procedures relating to the accounting systems. Analyzes data and devises methods of presentation. Receives requests for special reports from higher authority, relating to the financial responsibilities of the division. Assists in coordinating development of NAF budget. May supervise the monthly closing and balancing of journals and subsidiary ledgers on the accounting system.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the NAF accounting system.  Working knowledge of automated data processing systems, procedures, and controls that apply to automated financial and/or operational programs and/or systems. Knowledge of the functions, goals, objectives, and work processes of each activity under MWR.  Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Knowledge of appropriated fund (APF) lines of accounting.  Knowledge of an extensive body of accounting procedures.  Knowledge of NAF procurement regulations and procedures. Knowledge of the Prompt Payment Act as it affects accounts. Knowledge of military requisitioning and billing programs and procedures.
