The incumbent presides as an Administrative Judge over hearings on complaints of discrimination filed by federal employees or applicants, including individual complaints, class complaints, and claims of relief by individual members of a class complaint. Ensures that the record is sufficiently developed for issuance of a fair and impartial decision on the complaint. Writes and issues decisions on the merits of claims, including decisions containing findings of fact and conclusions of law, and grants appropriate relief, e.g., hiring, reinstatement, promotion, backpay, attorneys fees, compensatory damages, training for the managers, where a finding of discrimination is made.
