Help

As a GS-9 Program Specialist, the individual will assist Audit Division auditors and analysts in the evaluation/analysis of information in executing performance audits and in reporting audit results of internal programs and activities and external entities such as grantees, contractors, equitable sharing recipients, and DNA laboratories. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Performing liaison tasks to support the organizational planning process. Providing audit and administrative support to the office in such areas as collection and organization of information pertinent to audits under development or in process; composition, processing, and maintenance of audit correspondence; issuance, follow-up, and retention of audit reports; monthly and semiannual audit activity reporting; automation support; and personnel services. Creating and maintaining audit report and correspondence records in the OIG's Project Resolution and Tracking (PRT) database. Analyzing and generating PRT reports for Audit Division management.
2. Preparing various personnel and administrative forms and monitoring various office personnel actions. Reviewing personnel reports, ensuring that information is accurate, and taking action to resolve discrepancies. Identifying problems in personnel-related areas and making recommendations. Providing assistance to the managers and HR specialists in the resolution of problems encountered. Serving as the office's official timekeeper and providing assistance in resolving time or system related problems for office staff.
3. Collecting and analyzing data with only general instructions from the supervisor with regard to the scope of the work, objectives, time limitations, and priorities. Maintaining an automated system of program-specific data to track suspense on items such as project milestones, progress reports, funding accomplishments, compliance strategies, etc. Developing information, identifying data interrelationships, and recommending actions to resolve a wide variety of problems or situations associated with the function or program served.

Qualifications

GS-9: You must have successfully completed a masters or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D OR have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS 7 level performing analysis, drafting responses to data calls, and collecting and analyzing data.
