DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  1 (HK) Performs daily housekeeping duties as required, which includes but is not limited to: dusting/polishing furniture; trash removal; vacuuming and/or sweeping floors; cleaning sanitizing bathrooms and kitchen areas; making beds and removing/.changing bedding; restocking amenities, bed and bath linens, and other guest room supplies; checking condition of room assets and reporting problems to supervisor or designated representative; and responding to guest requests and communications.  2 (CA) Performs custodial duties as required inside and outside of buildings including; but not limited to, trash/garbage removal, sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, washing walls/windows, and sanitizing bathrooms/kitchens. Cleans all lobbies, passageways, stairwells, laundry rooms, public restrooms, and other common use areas in and around buildings. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: General knowledge of cleaning procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment and approved, commonly used chemicals (including MSDS) and adherence to basic safety policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing with management, staff and guests 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighting up to 45 pounds is required. Assisted lifting, moving and carrying in excess of 45 pounds may be required. May be required to climb/descend stairs and properly placed stepladders. This position may be designated ALPHA personnel for inclement weather or in the interest of national security and may be required to report for work when other employees are excused. The incumbent is required to obtain a housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment, as well as any other requirements outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
