Duties

Help

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Exercising full supervisory responsibility over subordinate positions such as establishing priorities and assigning work.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to agency management on the Employee Medical Programs, Fitness for-Duty, Limited Duty, Drug Free Workplace and Workers Compensation Program issues.
  • Assisting the Office of General Counsel as an expert witness by providing testimony during trials, hearings an depositions in addition to assisting in the preparation of interrogatories.
  • Developing and implementing health and medical program policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all Federal, Department of Justice (DOJ) and agency regulations.
  • Managing nurses in addition to other administrative professionals who monitor and work towards ensuring law enforcement employees of the Agency are medically fit for duty.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited institution with a major in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences that is appropriate for the Employee Health Programs Manager position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:

In order to qualify for the GS-14 Employee Health Program Manager vacancy, you must have at least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing duties in the following areas: 1. Applying health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with employee medical requirements; 2. Managing a fitness-for-duty program; 3. Case management of several medical related programs to include medical standards and fitness-for duty; 4. Leading an organizational health and medical program.
