Qualifications

In order to qualify for the Public Affairs Specialist, GS-1035-12, you must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record.
