Develop, implement, and analyze social media strategy, detailed plans, and content.
Ensure consistency and quality of content across all social media outlets.
Write, edit, and design social media postings utilizing text, video, and photographs employing appropriate security, copyright, domain names, trademark, Wilson Center policy, industry standards, and applicable e-marketing and e-commerce laws.
Compile data from Google Analytics and other resources for web-status report.
Monitor and track events, speakers, and accomplishments for the Center that is presented in a Board and Council report.
Create and maintain a Center-wide online social media calendar.
Build and engage with a digital audience for live Wilson Center events.
Package and market existing content such as event webcasts, podcasts, and articles for social media consumption.
Use social media to engage and educate staff and audiences.
Act as a social media resource to the Center and its programs, sharing best practices and providing information on how work can be highlighted and maximized with social media.
Create and disseminate social media campaign plans for special events and other communication initiatives to appropriate staff.
Build meaningful connections and encourages engagement with Wilson Center programming and topical areas on all social media platforms.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have the following:
Specialized Experience: At least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service performing social media activities in a professional capacity for an organization including planning, writing, and editing social media posts and campaigns on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Professional work experience using graphic design software such as Photoshop and at least one of the open source infographic platforms such as Canva, Piktochart, Vizualize, Infogr.am, is also required. Your resume must support the aforementioned resources, software, and platforms;
OR
A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skill, and abilities necessary to do the work;
OR
A combination of education and experience that meet 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. (Only graduate education in excess of the first full year may be used in this calculation.)
Possession of the following education and experience are highly desirable:
1) A degree in in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.
2) Experience using social media and content publishing platforms such as Buffer and Hootsuite, Microsoft Office suite, IBook’s Author, WordPress.
3) Familiarity with platforms such as the Google Digital Marketing suite, SoundCloud, Ustream, Medium, Storify, Picasa, IOS and Android platforms, and YouTube.
4) Experience requesting image rights and reproductions.
5) Experience in a news organization or covering public and foreign policy.
