About the Position:
This position provides the employee with full benefits, vacation and sick leave. Duties

Help

As a Precision Calibration/Measurement Inspector, you will be required to do the following:

  • Perform final and in-progress calibration and measurement inspections.
  • Conduct certification on final acceptance and in-process gages, jigs, fixtures and measuring equipment such as; flush pin, location, fixture, alignment, indicating, thread plug, ring, comparator fixtures, function gages, drill jigs, and indexing fixtures.
  • Review drawings on gages, jigs and fixtures for correlation of design function and and mathematical computation with component drawings. Prepare and update gage record cards.
  • Determine accuracy of items, prepare and update gage record cards and initiate/maintain all applicable and required reports.

Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Precision Calibration/Measurement Inspector without more than normal supervision with the Ability to Inspect - The work of the position normally includes...interpreting written technical data packages to determine inspection requirements; calibrating manufactured and repaired equipment; correlating design function and mathematical computations with component drawings; using precision measuring equipment such as; length measuring machine, gage blocks, sine bar/plate, angle blocks, internal and external measuring equipment, optical contour projector, optical flats, devising lead, harness tester, profilometer, thread checker etc. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: Utilizes a fine sense of touch in the handling and operation of delicate measuring instruments. Applies close mental application and exacting hand and eye coordination for prolonged periods in order to accomplish a consistent high level of accuracy.
  • Working Conditions: Air conditioned work area provides good working conditions. On occasion, work assignments require incumbent to be around machinery in manufacturing area
