Help

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

  • Coordinate events (e.g., tours, media activities) to represent an installation and command personnel in civil or public affairs and community relations.
  • Plan and implement community outreach initiatives to promote understanding of the command's public affairs program.
  • Serve as the action officer for planning and execution of local engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Respond to inquiries from outside activities (e.g., Congressional letters, government officials, other government agencies and industry representatives).
  • Develop informational materials regarding organizational programs, policies, activities, or objectives.

Requirements:
Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

A Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

Work is sedentary, being performed in an office environment.

The work is performed in an office setting with adequate lighting, ventilation air conditioning and heating. Occasional out of office work or travel is required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Producing written information for audiences with different levels of understanding; 2) Presenting information orally in a logical, clear, and concise manner; and 3) Disseminates information between the Installation and local community. NOTE: YOUR ANSWER MUST BE FULLY SUPPORTED BY THE EXPERIENCE DESCRIBED IN YOUR RESUME.

Education: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field that is directly related to the work of the position; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level education leading to such a degree in a field that is directly related to the work of the position; OR a LL.M. if related to the position.
