(0490) position is to develop, coordinate, and administer a comprehensive guidance and counseling program designed to aid in the facilitation of the DoDEA educational program and to promote the welfare of the students. Provides information and guidance of individuals and groups of students, teacher, other school staff members, and parents related to academic, career, behavioral, personal, and social development of students as a part of prevention and intervention services. Assists with the course selection process and scheduling for all students.
(0429) position is to provide instruction, assessment, and program planning for preschool aged students with a range of disabilities including intellectual, physical, communication, learning, and emotional disabilities. Provides educational intervention strategies to include diagnostic-prescriptive instruction in a variety of settings to include but not limited to preschool classroom, resource room, general education classroom, natural environment, consultation, and collaboration.

You must meet the DoDEA Professional Licensure/Certification Requirement.
Professional Licensure/Certification Requirement: Applicants must be currently certified or certifiable under the current DoDEA standards as a Guidance Counselor, Elementary and Teacher, Preschool Disabled.
The Guidance Counselor (0490), a master's degree in educational guidance and counseling, or a master's degree with a minimum of 30 SH of graduate course work well distributed over the areas of guidance and counseling with practical application to programs and practices in a PreK-12 school setting is required. Course work must include guidance and counseling in the elementary, middle or secondary school (PreK-12); legal and ethical issues in counseling; counseling children and adolescents; administration and interpretation of tests; career counseling; and drug education. Additionally, a practicum/internship in PreK-12 school guidance and counseling is required. A second category is not required.
The Teacher, Preschool Disabled (0429), a major in special education or a minimum of 30 SH in special education is required. Course work must include a minimum of 12 SH directly related to preschool or early childhood education.
