Summary

About the Position:
This position is under the supervision of the Combat Maneuver and Recovery PSID.  The referral list generated by this announcement may be used to fill future vacancies in other organizations throughout the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) in Warren, MI, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, MI and Troy, MI.  The ILSC is responsible for sustaining war fighting readiness and managing a large part of the Army's investment in war fighting capacity as integrators of nearly 3,000 weapon systems that form the core of the Army's war fighting capability.

Duties

Help

  • Applies Army Maintenance policies and procedures during the development and execution of Logistics Demonstrations, Interactive Electronic Technical Maintenance Verifications, installation instructions, and other technical manuals.
  • Utilizes logistics databases, such as, LMP/Powerlog-J/COMPASS to determine maintenance trends and input provisioning data, updates, and data extraction for assigned weapon system.
  • Reviews engineering change proposals, production waivers and deviations and furnishes position based upon maintenance implications.
  • Resolves field inquiries and issues which require field studies, technical research, and investigation of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions.
  • Prepares maintenance repair scope of works (SOWs), National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWRs) for government/contractor facilities to inspect, test, service, repair, rebuild, overhaul and/or upgrade weapon system.

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Acquisition Career Field Life Cycle Logistics within 24 months of entrance on duty.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing and providing guidance on maintenance procedures, Engineering Change Proposals, Request for Variances; maintaining and updating maintenance or provisioning data, Item Management coding in an automated system; development of Statements of Work, National Maintenance Work Requirement, and Contract Data Requirements List; resolving field inquiries, technical research and investigation of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).
