Help

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

  • Coordinate events (e.g., tours, media activities) to represent an installation and command personnel in civil or public affairs and community relations.
  • Coordinate the execution of a collaborative region-wide community relations or outreach program.
  • Serve as the action officer for planning and execution of local engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Respond to inquiries from outside activities (e.g., Congressional letters, government officials, other government agencies and industry representatives).

Requirements:

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

Work is primarily sedentary with some minimal physical activity during information gathering and escort duties.

Most work is performed in an office setting but frequent trips on and off base is required when gathering information and escorting guests and the media. Occasional trips aboard aircrafts, ships, and to remote sites are possible.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Writing, editing, photography, social media and emergency response for Public Affairs support; 2) web site development/management; and 3) Social media development/management.
