This is an Air National Guard Position under Title 5; Enlistment is NOT required
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Information Technology (IT) specialist responsible for Sector assistance in the operation and maintenance of the installation's Battle Control System-Fixed (BCS-F) and Command & Control (C2) system and auxiliary equipment and to provide technical assistance, training, and support to customers.
Systems Administrator supporting unit's C2 Systems. Monitors ongoing operation of C2 systems (ex: BCS-F, RTAP, Radiant Mercury, Joint range Extender, Air Defense Systems Integrator, Pocket-J, Data Link and interface equipment, firewalls, cryptographic equipment, ERSA Fusion Center, ERSA TDF Workstation...etc.) to ensure hardware and software are functioning and operational standards are met.
Plans, tests, and configures unit's C2 systems. Participates in planning, monitoring, testing, maintain, and operating multiple operating systems-based C2 platforms. Installs, configures, and maintains network hubs, switches, routers, and serves that support C2 activities.
Analyzes and resolves problems and trends. Records problem reports as they occur to effectively track outages and types of interruptions to service and to build a knowledge base of future problem resolution.
Provides customer support, assistance, orientation, and prime trainer for unit's maintenance personnel on C2 systems. Provides technical assistance to current and potential users so that C2 systems operations have few major disruptions. Demonstrates processes and provides orientation for new users.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include Knowledge of network systems design,
development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance
concepts and methods. Knowledge of the organization's network architecture,
topology, and protocols to ensure proper configuration. Knowledge to provide network services that
support business requirements and plan, design, develop, and integrate network
systems consistent with existing or planned network infrastructures. Knowledge
in a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment
used in customer organizations. Knowledge of methods and practices for
troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving IT systems.
Knowledge in providing advice and assistance to customers and troubleshoot
complex problems. Knowledge in providing support in a manner
that minimizes interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical
business activities. Ability to apply trouble shooting and data analysis
methods to resolve operating problems. Ability to write user materials and
instructions.
