    The DHS Cybersecurity Internship Program is specially designed to provide graduate students with cybersecurity-focused assignments and expose students to the field of cybersecurity within the Department. Selected students will support the cybersecurity mission within the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A).

    THIS POSITION IS NOT TO EXCEED SEPTEMBER 30, 2017, however it may be extended for up to 1 year.

    Responsibilities

    As a Student Trainee (Intelligence Research) GS 0199 9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

    GS-9

    • Drafts, coordinates, and produces all-source intelligence products for review.
    • Monitors and evaluates all-source intelligence information to identify potential cyber threats to the Homeland.
    • Maintains partnerships and collaborates with analytic counterparts throughout the Intelligence Community (IC), and with DHS Components and other federal, state, and local officials and private sector owners and operators of critical infrastructure.
    GS-11
    • Produces intelligence products to support planning and execution of policies and programs that enhance defense, mitigation, and resiliency against cyber threats.
    • Prepares all-source cyber intelligence analysis briefing.
    • Identifies innovative solutions to improve judgments of adversary intent and capability and opportunity analysis and identify reliable indicators of future activity.
    • Maintains partnerships and collaborates with analytic counterparts throughout the Intelligence Community (IC), and with DHS Components and other federal, state, and local officials and private sector owners and operators of critical infrastructure.
