Summary

Duties

Help

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

  • Performs account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data.
  • Examining documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, and compliance with regulations for good and services.
  • Performs technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. This certification level must be achieved within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are outlined in the DoD Instruction 1300.26 available at http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/130026_dodi_2017.pdf

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Selectee will be required to complete and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, prior to entering the position and annually thereafter.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Utilizing a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports;
  • Reviewing transactions and identifying missing information needed to process submitted invoices;
  • Communicating effectively with contracting and accounting personnel, internal and external to the organization in order to explain and resolve discrepancies;
  • Utilizing a working knowledge of contract funding methods and sources, long line appropriations, proper invoicing and impact of various finance arrangements on computing and reporting contract payments.
