This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, Office of Management and Policy, Division of Procurment and Administrative Services, Branch of Administrative Services. The Branch is the focal point within the OIG in providing day-to-day management, oversight and technical direction of OIG’s administrative management activities. The incumbent functions as a Management Services Specialist and is responsible for supporting the Branch Chief in managing the full range of administrative management services (e.g, travel, fleet management, event/conference planning, facilities management, space design, mail management, Continuity of Operations Program (COOP), property management and internal (business) controls.
This position has promotion potential to GS-13. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval.

The major duties consists of:
Analyzes, and evaluates issues which may include requirements for training, supply, maintenance, transportation, facilities, human resources, administrative support, information management, equipment and operations requirements.
Conducts space management analysis to include data collection, tabulation, reviewing and revising floor plans, analyzing the drawings received from GSA and determining if there are discrepancies, and survey for current and future space needs.
Performs yearly office inspections along with Departmental staff, making recommendations to resolve safety problems.
Reviews travel vouchers to develop travel projections. Performs an analysis of monthly, quarterly, mid-year and yearly budgets and reconciles financial reports.
Monitors OIG tephone/telecommunications systems and evaluates and analyzes OIG needs in light of specialized OIG and departmental programs/systems.
Provides advice and guidance to managers and contractors ensuring acquisition procedures are followed, performs pre-award functions and utilizes electronic procurement systems and evaluates contracts with the OIG procurement office and researches supply alternatives.
Maintains physical inventories of property, serves as the custodian of OIG computer equipment and resolves all OIG building issues.
Serves as the drug program liaison and schedules medical examinations. Serves as a Continuity of Operations Program (COOP) coordinator, develops a COOP plan for their region, announcing early dismissals and keeping management at headquarters abreast of regional conditions.
