This position is located in the Office of the Commissioner. The ideal candidate will possess experience as an executive assistant and have extensive experience with scheduling, booking travel, and records management. Though not required, an ideal candidate would have demonstrated experience working in public policy or international trade. In addition to administrative duties, there is an opportunity for economic and trade analysis for interested candidates. Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.

As Confidential Assistant to the Commissioner, you will manage the Office of the Commissioner. Responsibilities include managing the calendar of the Commissioner and scheduling meetings among the six Commissioners, booking travel, and assisting the other aides to the Commissioner. There is a high degree of interaction and collaboration with the other Commissioner offices, so the incumbent must have excellent interpersonal skills, intelligence, diplomacy, judgment and initiative. The Office of the Commissioner interfaces with all other offices in the agency as well, so the incumbent must be able to work well with all levels of staff, as well as outside stakeholders.
The Confidential Assistant is immersed in the work of the office, assisting aides and the Commissioner with the office work flow. We seek a candidate who also possesses strong research and writing skills and who has an interest in the economic and international trade matters, including studies of international markets and import injury analysis. The incumbent would have the opportunity to further hone research skills and explore their interest in public policy and economics. The incumbent is responsible for the records management of the Commissioner's office, and works closely with the Secretary's office to ensure records are properly accounted for. The incumbent maintains National Security Information and handles confidential business information.
Other duties include: fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, utilizing information technology such as Microsoft Office applications and office administrative duties to include filing, order supplies, etc. Extensive software skills are required as well as Internet research abilities and exceptional communication skills.
