Duties

Help

  • Works with project teams and contractors coordinating, implementing and maintaining public health education social sites, ensuring that the use of social platforms match key targets audience's use of the platforms.
  • Creates social media calendars that align with education campaign activities. 
  • Manages work flow of social content to ensure that all identified stakeholders review and comment on social posts, ensuring timely review and clearance of content. 
  • Stays apprised, and informing the team of emerging social media technologies, trends, and industry  news. 
  • Ensures social activities meet Federal digital policies and guidelines. 
  • Analyzes  public engagement on social platforms and posts using social media analytics tools, and makes recommendation for improving delivery of information in all public health educations campaigns.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for Health Communications Specialist (Social Media), GS-1001-12, you must meet the following:

Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, to include experience in writing, editing textual social media posts for public health education campaigns, ensuring effective communication of messages to target audiences through social media.

In order to qualify for Health Communications Specialist (Social Media), GS-1001-13, you must meet the following: 

Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, to include experience in identifying and communicating to management the strategy of social media channel use and analyzing, developing, and writing a variety of information designed to reach target audiences through social media.
