The incumbents of
these positions will serve as Assistant Special Agents in Charge

Serves as a principal advisor to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC), with full supervisory responsibility for directing subordinate Resident Agents in Charge and others in accomplishing all investigative activities pursuant to federal statutes, DoD Directives, and general office instructions.
Coordinates and develops special investigative operations and projects to accomplish investigative activities within the geographic region assigned.
Establishes priorities and ensures satisfactory quantity and quality of work in compliance with investigative directives, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
Provides advice and recommends appropriate actions in matters pertaining to personnel administration, such as hiring, promotions, and performance evaluations.
Conducts criminal investigations as required.
Prepares budget submission and tracks expenditures.
Presents oral briefings.
Represents DCIS in dealing with senior officials of various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, industry representatives, and professional societies.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance
Position is subject to random drug testing

Incumbent will be required to work, or be available to work
substantial amounts of unscheduled overtime duty based on the needs of the
agency, and will receive availability pay, a special form of premium pay
fixed at 25 percent of the adjusted salary (basic and locality).
Incumbent
must have successfully completed the Criminal Investigator Training
Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco,
Georgia, or another Federal equivalent criminal investigator training
program, such as the FBI Special Agent training program or Military Criminal
Investigative Organization equivalent.
Tribal, State, and local law
enforcement academy training does not meet this requirement.
Federal employees currently serving in the
Competitive Service must acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the
Competitive Service by accepting an offer of employment in the Excepted
Service.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at
the GS-14 level in the federal service or an equivalent level.
Specialized experience is defined as: supervising a criminal investigative
office that investigates procurement and contract fraud; bribery/corruption;
theft and/or illegal export of sensitive defense articles; and other complex
fraud allegations involving federal programs and operations by applying
criminal investigative techniques, rules of criminal procedures, laws, and
rules of evidence, and search and seizure in the conduct of
investigations.
Candidates will be further evaluated
on the level and quality of their experience and possession of the following
relevant competencies in order to determine the level of your qualifications.
These competencies include:
Leadership skill to supervise multiple criminal investigative offices and activities
Knowledge of investigative and case management techniques and procedures to plan, organize, administer, and coordinate investigative activities.
Written communication skill to prepare reports, case files, policies, recommendations, and presentations.

Position has been designated as Top secret/Sensitive Compartmented
Information (TS/SCI);incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top

This position requires qualifications to carry and use
