    OIG is organized into three line elements: the Offices of Investigations, Audits and Evaluations, and Healthcare Inspections; along with the Office of Contract Review and the Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 30 cities throughout the country.

    The Program Support Assistant, located in the Hotline Division, Office of Management and Administration, is responsible for providing administrative and technical support for the Division Director and the Hotline staff.

    Responsibilities

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    - Advise the Director on the practical and technical aspects of office administration including file management.
    - Create and send semi-custom responses to complainants by identifying the issue that needs addressed, studying and researching the issue, and selecting the most appropriate response to the inquiry. Upload copies of semi-custom responses to the appropriate record in the designated system of records.
    - Take notes at the division staff meeting. Uses notes to create rough drafts, tables, or other data pertaining to the administrative activities of the branch.
    - Receive, screen, and control correspondence and route the items directly to the appropriate staff for action.
